Soccer

The 2009/2010 year is underway! The ski team started off the year with some intense soccer action over the past couple days. On Friday the alpine team took on the Nordic squad in a heated battle (figuratively and literally… I think the temp was in the mid 90’s) The alpine team was victorious, winning 4-2. The match served as a tune up for the annual Utah Ski Team vs. Westminster Ski Team Cup. The defending champs Utah got of to a slow start with heavy pressure from the fighting griffins (Westminster) but gradually seized control of the match winning 4-1. Player of the game went to Even Sletten who scored 3 goals for the Utes. Freshman phenom Max Lamb also played a crucial role in the Utah victory as goalie, making miraculous saves look routine.

We look forward to the next big match
